John started working at TBA in 1986. After graduating from The University of Tennessee in 1988, he became a Marketing Specialist for Manhattan Life Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. When Manhattan Life was sold in 1989 he moved back to Knoxville and became a Marketing Manager at TBA. In 1996, he became President of TBA, a position he still holds.

John has served on many local and state insurance association boards as well as local civic and social organizations. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of LIFE Foundation, past chairman of the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA), past President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA)-Knoxville and past President of TYGERS, a second-generation brokerage agency study group.

John has been married to his wife Johnna since 1996 and they have 4 children (Hannah, Kate, Sadie and Jack). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, golf, tennis and boating.

Karen joined the agency in 1996, opening the Nashville office. She travels her territory of Middle and West Tennessee assisting agents in their marketing efforts and submitting business. She has been very involved in the local NAIFA association, serving on the Board until last year. She holds a life/health license as well as the LUTCF designation.

She enjoys working out at the gym, gardening and home improvement projects in her spare time.

With a background in property insurance, Cheryl came to TBA in 2002. She enjoys working closely with her agents in case management.

She has been married 34 years and has two children and three grandchildren, with whom she tries to spend as much time as possible. Cheryl and her sisters have quite a reputation for seeking out the best bargains at garage sales, and she loves working in her parents' garden each summer in Mississippi.

Cheryl is a three year breast cancer survivor and participates in Buddy's Race Against Cancer each year to help build awareness for this disease.

Patty comes from a large family, four brothers and one sister. Her parents have been married 66 years, and her husband, John, proposed while they were underwater scuba diving. She enjoys gardening, running, scuba diving, reading, running and spending time with her two cats, Ricky and Lucy.

"Patty has acted as co-chair of the Teams Committee for the Buddy's Race Against Cancer 5k for the past four years, and she currently volunteers with Team in Training as a coach.

Sheila has been in the insurance industry since 1977. She was an agent with Horace Mann in Jacksonville, FL until joining TBA in 2000. She earned her LUTCF designation in 2002 and has carried her life/health license for 34 years.

Sheila is a volunteer with Knoxville Habitat for Humanity and recently helped build her daughter’s home.

She is a big blues enthusiast, and enjoys working out, hiking, gardening, reading, football, playing with her very active granddaughter and spending time with family and friends.

Tamara is a 1997 graduate from the University of Tennessee and an alumni member of Sigma Alpha sorority. She worked at UT until she joined TBA in January 2005 reviewing applicatons and handling document processing for the office.

In her free time, Tamara enjoys reading, movies, being outdoors and spending time with her cat Petey. She also has a daughter named Jessica, who joins Tamara each year on the TBA Buddy's Race Against Cancer team where Tamara serves as team captain.

Ann has been with TBA for 21 years, working mainly in commissions and accounting. She has also served on the FISH Board (Knoxville organization for distributing food to those in need). She continues to deliver food and is involved in numerous activities of her church. Ann participates each year in races to raisey money and awareness for both the hungry and those who have been touched by cancer.

She has two grown sons with families and was involved in AAU Swimming for 13 years. In her free time, she enjoys walking/running, swim and gymnastics meets with her grandchildren, traveling and people.

Jennifer has been in the insurance industry for almost 20 years, six of those being at TBA. She has experience in payroll-deducted life, she has worked with a third party administrator in Charlotte, NC, and she currently handles all non-impaired risk illustrations, as well as producing a weekly newsletter for TBA.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys fishing, camping, cooking and reading. She also has one "child," a Great Dane named Josie, who takes up a lot of Jennifer's time (and space).

Heather has been in the insurance industry since 2008. She previously worked for a large property and casualty company before joining TBA in 2009.

Heather is a proud University of Georgia class of 2008 graduate, where she earned her BA in Journalism and Mass Communications. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping, reading and attending sporting events. She and her husband are doting parents to a white English Bulldog named Georgia.

Zach is a University of Tennessee 2009 graduate and has worked in the financial services industry since graduation. He joined TBA in March 2011, and he feels working in the life insurance industry is perfectly suited for him.

Zach was born in Los Angeles and lived there before moving to Knoxville at the age of seven. He pitched for the University of Tennessee baseball team from 2005-2006. In his spare time, Zach enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, exercising and attending church. He also enjoys working as a volunteer baseball coach in Rocky Hill during the summers.

Carey has been in the insurance industry since 2005. She previously worked in property and casualty until 2011, when she joined TBA.

Carey earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology and is a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2002. She spends her free time with her daughter Natalie and dogs Cody and Chloe, often on the family boat. She also enjoys watching college football, reading, watching movies, shopping and spending time with her niece and nephews.

Kathryn started at TBA in 1995 after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Economics. She left TBA in 2004 to pursue personal production. Now, she has returned to TBA as a marketing representative focusing on banks and CPA firms. Her interests are her horse, Cricket, and anything that involves the outdoors.
